Paper Boat Benches
Furniture, Products A school in Mexico asked me to design a bench that could be produced and used outdoors for their preschool and kindergarten kids. The school was picturing normal benches where kids could sit during recess, but I wanted to design something that perhaps could be more unique and special. After sketching, model making, creating some 3D renderings and working with a fiberglass company in Mexico to produce these boats, the result was a bit more fun than they had pictured and they were very happy with them. The final design was produced as a unique fiberglass molded piece that can be reproduced and changed in color. The boats were purposefully made with Fiberglass because it is easy to maintain and light enough to be moved. The bench shape is designed to be modular, when placing boats together it offers kids a bigger area to sit on and play. Size: 35.5”H x 35”L x 54”W Materials: Fiberglass -

AiFi
Exhibits AiFi is a computer vision start-up that provides cashier-free retail software. By leveraging its A.I., sensor and camera network based system, they can scale from a small mom-and-pop show all the way up to a bigger retailer with tens of thousands of square feet and hundreds of products. Aifi’s solution is driven by three main considerations: Consumer experience, business owner experience, and CPG/brand experience. By creating a frictionless, chashier-less CPG/retail environment, consumers can get what they need when they need it, and throughout this process, retailers and brands can collect data that can inform decisions that will optimize the customer experience and business overall. The concept booth that I helped develop here was designed to let visitors realize that AiFi is unique, whimsical, and approachable. The main things to focus on the booth were to: Introduce and elevate the AiFi brand, demonstrate sales technology and scaleability and lastly, to engage attendeed preshow and at the event on what AiFi as all about. To achieve our goals I suggested to: Develop a whimsically modern aesthetic in a way that would compel attendees and really stand out from the crowd, building on AiFi’s web identity. Activate products in fun and interesting ways, creating a generic packaging design and employing a unique giveaway activity that could also capture lead data for follow-ups. Incorporate opportunities for simple demonstrations and deeper learning about AiFi systems. Attached are a couple sketches I created for this project. -
The Toy Box – ABC
TV I was chosen as a designer to participate in ABC’s “The Toy Box” design competition TV Show and won second place during out of 35 Toy inventors during the show. About The Toy Box: The Toy Box is the ultimate toy-competition series, providing talented designers with the chance of a lifetime: an opportunity to bring their toy concept to life by Mattel. Hosted by Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family), the toys – and their inventors – are put through a series of trials and tests before facing the ultimate judges – a panel of no-nonsense, toy-loving kids. After the show: Since only the winner got their toy produced by Mattel, Toys “R” Us reached out to me to work with them to bring my Lightbox Terrier to life as a product line. Toys “R” Us and I worked for a couple months perfecting my design so it could be mass produced without losing its “essence”. We also worked on two other products that would be part of the Terrier-Lightbox line. Terry was ready for production and set to hit the stores Fall 2018. Unfortunately Toys “R” Us declared bankrupcy and his production had to be cancelled. Attached are a couple sketches of my work with Toys “R” Us. ABC link -

Automation Anywhere 2018
Exhibits Automation Anywhere, a company that revolutionizes the way we use bots in the workspace, has grown into a multi-billion dollar organization quickly. After designing their successful 2017 Shared Services and Outstanding Week booth (SSOW), they came back to Group Delphi to see if we could design their 2018 booth. The design this year had to showcase all the ways in which attendees could customize the use of robotic technology as an extension of their workforce - allowing them to imagine its use in their everyday lives. To achieve this, I was given two 20’ x 20’ spaces that needed to be cohesive and connected in a unique way. The final design evolved into a bridge that connected both 20’ x 20’ spaces and featured an eye-catching kaleidoscopic interactive element that told a story of innovation, drastically improved workflow, and boundary pushing technology. -
Lineweight

Removable paint rollers are stored at the bottom and become erasers. Unleash Studio believes that art should be functional and beautiful. Engagement Chair
Furniture, Products I originally sketched this rocking sailboat chair during an Ellen’s Design Challenge on HGTV as a concept. This chair won the challenge and earned me a spot in the show. After the show aired, I wanted to fully design this chair beyond just being a sketched concept and build it for a very special someone and occasion. A few years later, the perfect idea came to mind - to build this chair as an marriage proposal chair. This sailboat chair, made out of Apple-Ply, was built and designed as a “ring box” to hold the engagement ring for my soon to be “fiance”. I personalized it with her favorite colors (yellow and grey) and constructed a small special compartment that would hide the ring as a surprise. The chair has two interchangeable “sails” that serve as cushions as well as storage. In the next images, you will see more detail shots of the final chair and a behind the scenes video of what it took to bring this chair to life. This was a challenging, but definitely the most rewarding project I have ever made. Oh, and she said yes! -

Automation Anywhere 2017
Exhibits This exhibit was designed for Automation Anywhere, a company that revolutionizes the way we use bots in the workspace. They needed a new design for SSOW 2017 (Shared Services and Outstanding Week) that could travel around different countries and be reusable for many shows. The design of this booth also needed to convey the client’s theme “How will your story appear on the pages of history” and create social engagement. Automation Anywhere needed two booths, one that would be a 20’ x 20’ “Big Book” and a 10’ x 10’ “Little Book”. Both designs were designed to be lightweight, allow visitors to get demonstrations on the technology and also listen to client success stories. Attendees from all over the world lined up to take photos with the the book and this space generated 860% increase in the companie’s Twitter engagement due to its engaging, playful design. 3D Concept/Design: Melissa Rivera Torres Moir Graphic Design: Neha Balthazar, Kyle Lee -

Norton
Interiors, Lounge Safety, security, peace of mind, and the comfort that comes with these is what the Norton Airport Lounge offers to travelers - a cyber haven where travelers can relax, recharge and learn how they can be safe and secure everywhere with the Norton Wifi Privacy Secure VPN. There were three concepts that were created at the studio. All the concepts presented were inspired by the descriptions given to us that were required for the space. Designs needed to be bright, comfortable, convenient, sleek/clean, modern and most importantly represent a uniquely Norton by Symantec experience. The concept I was assigned to design was called “The Safety Nooks”. -
Group Delphi
Exhibits Group Delphi was participating at Exhibitor Live 2016 and I was asked to help with the design for their booth. The treatment titled “It’s a Jungle Out There” was given to me as a starting point. The concept was to design a lighthearted, visual expression of the challenges that exhibit professionals face everyday. Visitors would immerse themselves into a bamboo forest that would come alive with colored lights, sounds and animated visuals. I created mood boards, visual style images, sketches, models and even got to sketch storyboards for the animal animations that would be seen in VR when visitors peered through Google Cardboard glasses. In the end the design had to be simplified a lot, but the experience was fully immersive. As visitors turned their heads, the jungle followed their gaze, sweeping them off the show floor and into the realization that with Group Delphi, anything is possible. The response was nearly unanimous: gasps, smiles, and great conversation. Thanks to an intriguing theme, a talented team, a tactile experience, and some well-chosen tech, the experiential jungle became a link to fantastic connections and future leads. -
